Pyro, Lasers, Smoke and a whole heap of Rock and Roll...
This is what I saw last night when I ventured to JB's in Dudley.
The night kicked off with The Whiskey Syndicate, a Wolverhampton based dirty rock and roll band with their powerful riffs and Ant's wailing vocals...
I'm not really a man of many words and they say a photo is worth a 1000, so have 25,000 words based on some of the photos taken during their show...
The Whiskey Syndicate
Notable songs during The Whiskey Syndicate's set would be Stick or Twisted, and Bare Back Love Rat, two very powerful songs which really portrayed the bands musical ability.
Headlining the show was local band Oxzide.
This is not the first time I have seen either of these bands and, knowing both of them quite well, it would be almost impossible for me to write impartially. One way in which I can be impartial is by showing some more photographs I took during Oxzide's Set...
Oxzide
As you can see this band put a lot of stock in the visual side of their performance, with lasers and pyrotechnics, but don't let that make you think that the sonic side of the show is in any way lacking. With the band working together and pulsating through the songs, Betty uses every bit of her voice to serenade (if you can call rock singing serenading!) the audience.
These guys really don't pull any punches, no-matter what size of crowd... which is my only beef really; there wasn't much of a turnout which is a real shame because both bands put on storming shows which really deserved to be appreciated by more people... I only hope that next time either band plays, more people turn up to see them. At the moment, there's a lot of talent on offer and many people are missing out!
Check out the listings to see when these bands are playing next and make the effort to give them a go, you won't be disappointed!
