The line up was completed and settled in early 2004 when sam jones joined on guitar and backing vocals. Three members (michael (keys +vocals), marc (drums and backing vocals) and tom (bass) ) came together through family connection and recruited sam jones on guitar to complete the band.
the band have been compared to many artists ranging from soundgarden to turin brakes. However, the only thing for sure is that 51 breaks write music that is based around strong melodies and good musicianship. They attempt to connect with their followers and providing good entertainment whilst on stage.
they have played all around their home area of the midlands and have gone from manchester and london. They have also played several music festivals around the country.
the band are currently working non-exclusivly with basement studios management to raise the profile of the band and are working in acorn studios with to release a 3 track cd in early october.
the band have also erecieved much media coverage. They have been included in kerrang magazine and gig guides through the country. They have been broadcast on several radio statins and were interviewed on bbc wm last year. In june 2005 they were included in a podcast in florida which attracted much attentuion and recruited more fans for the band. As a resulyt of magazine coverage in birmingham the band were asked to support trevor burton (from the move) on several dates.
The band continue to grow and recruit more fans whilst making music they are proud of and hope to bring that music to as many people as possible
