Big Meat began eight years ago during our freshman year of high school. We played through college all over New England in clubs, bars, and at schools and festivals, but more importantly we used that time to chisel and refine our sound while constantly expanding its intensity. Now we’re free and ready to share it.
Our sound is a mix between raw funk, rock and roll, and high energy improvisation.
Many of our songs have linear structures that are an adventure rather than a merry-go-around. The same is true of our improvisation. While maintaining a groove that begs your body to dance, Big Meat will travel into unknown musical territory. This skill has evolved in our eight years together to become an amazing feat to witness, and we’ll smile all the while, dancing to our own music while we play.
