Anubis

Musically, Anubis have strived to combine hard-edged rock with melancholic but melodic harmonised vocals. Niall’s prolific, thought provoking lyrics combined with the band’s driving rhythm and unpredictable melodies make for songs laced with hooks that are not always immediately obvious, but grow and pervade the senses with each successive listening experience.

At just 18 years of age, Anubis have a growing following, playing to packed Birmingham venues The Flapper & Firkin, The Hare & Hounds, Edwards No. 8, The i-bar at Millenium Point, The Medicine Bar at the Custard Factory, Scruffy Murphy’s and The Bristol Pear. Most venues have offered headline gigs after just one support slot. Promoters as far away as Barnstaple and Burnley are arranging dates for next year. Their songs are consistently in the top 5 of the Overplay rock chart.

“Brilliant…I’ll definitely be back to see you again” - Richard March (Pop Will Eat Itself)

“…it’s done properly, it’s produced well – but I think they’re trying to say ‘look, the hell with predictable verses and choruses – here’s a bridge that kind of evolves into something else’. It’s just sporadic and it’s different and they’ve definitely created something that is unique to them – it’s their brand, it’s their genre, it’s their style…. it’s just different, it’s in yer face, and we like it - it’s new”.

Rob & Loz - Kerrang! Radio 105.2 Unsigned, talking about “DK”, 2 October 2005
