The Glow are a Midlands based 5 piece blues band playing an eclectic mix of Southern Americana Rootzy Blues. Drawing upon all their soul and experience to provide a blues experience like no other.
Past performances include 'Ice Cold In Alex', 'Little Sister' and 'The Journeymen', who incidentally, played the opening night at the Robin R 'n B Club and featured such great artists as Steve Gibbons, Trevor Burton, Mike Sanchez and Jim Hickman. More recently Katy opened the 'Burnley Blues Festival' and procured a much coveted 'Blues Matters' recording contract as 'Kate Pereira and The Tone Kings'.
Bass Guitar / Backing Vocals
Made his musical mark with 'The Rhythm Steelers' and 'The Dirt Road Blues Band', before crossing to the country music circuit to work with 'Indiana Rain' for a 5 year stint. Subsequently, he returned to his roots forming popular Midlands' rhythm 'n' blues band 'The Roosters'.
Honed his skills performing with the likes of 'Jackie Graham', 'Ferrari', 'Racey' and the well known midland phenomena 'Four On The Floor' as well as the aforementioned 'Dirt Road Blues Band'and 'The Roosters' where he first worked with bassist Dave Pearson.
Keyboards / Guitars / Backing Vocals
Alex comes from a musical family and started his musical career learning from and working with his grandfather, Ivan Walker in their keyboard based duo in the 90's. Alex moved on to guitar duties soon after and has played and recorded with many successful bands and solo acts. More recently, he has been working with Timeless , and Reload before joining The Glow.
He wants to be buried with a headstone that reads ..... "Here lies a bluesman who didn't wake up this mornin'."
Guitars / Backing Vocals
Started his musical career on Bass working with various bands throughout Spain. Much of this time was working with his father, Pete Oliver. Finally, after a long journey, he has returned to the guitar.
