Shifa is a new improvising trio with Rachel Musson on saxophone, Pat Thomas on electronics and Mark Sanders on drums. Each of the three has played with the others, but they have not played together as in this trio. Pat and Mark are relatively well known to British audiences; Rachel Musson is perhaps less well known, but an exciting part of the improivising scene nonetheless. John Fordham of the Guardian has described her as 'a free-improviser sensitive to melody-like narrative and dramatic pacing.
