Callum Smart attracted wide public attention at the age of thirteen having won the strings category of the 2010 BBC Young Musicians Competition and becoming the top European prize-winner in the Menuhin Competition. He has since appeared with orchestras including the BBC National Orchestra of Wales, Calgary Philharmonic, European Union Chamber Orchestra, the Philharmonia Orchestra and the Royal Philharmonic Orchestra with conductors such as Grant Llewellyn and Vasily Petrenko. Recent recital and chamber performances include the Dvorak Festival in Prague, Menuhin Festival in Gstaad, the Valdres Sommersymfoni Festival, the Cheltenham Festival, London's Wigmore Hall, Konzerthaus Berlin and the Auditorium du Louvre in Paris - Evening's Programme: Debussy Sonata; Prokofiev Sonata No.2 in D major; Brahms Sonata in G major; Ysaye / Saint-Saens Caprice in the form of a waltz
