Lady Rain are getting seen, listened to and talked about with an ever-growing air of expectation. Popular musical tastes have converged with the band's raucous, melodic vibe; in the coming together of over half a decade of gigging, writing, recording and irrepressible self-belief.
400,000 website hits in eight months, every release making the Top 5 in the Overplay Unsigned Chart, 1300 friends on MySpace and a loyal mailing list of 300: a few vital statistics spawned from an established presence on the premier Birmingham gig circuit since 2001, playing the Flapper and Firkin, Jug of Ale, Actress & Bishop and Carling Academy, including a prestigious showcase slot at the 500-capacity Academy 2.
Lady Rain are a six-strong driven indie rock band with a decidedly British edge; serving but not ruled by the musical mainstream. Resisting the penchant of their peers for emulating the mellow chart-toppers of the past few years, Lady Rain have evolved a songcraft which prefers to hit you squarely between the eyes before seducing you with an infectious hook. Parallels have been drawn with the raw sound of the Pixies and Graham Coxon, the ambience of the Stone Roses and The Cure, and the current tones of The Killers, We Are Scientists and Bloc Party.
Lady Rain are now looking for universal exposure, and invite recording, distribution and publishing deals from organisations with the influence and belief to enable them to make a sustained impact on the international music scene.
Lady Rain are pleased to be: Ced Lunnon, Rob Allen, Dave Hemming, Matt Fitzsimmons, James Kent, Rob Davis
